Which Massage Therapist Should I Choose?

When you come to us for a massage, we'll help you pick the right technique and Massage Therapist for your body and goals.

Our services are based on a three-tiered system consisting of:

  1. Licensed Massage Therapists
  2. Advanced Practitioners
  3. and Master Practitioners

Each ascending tier of knowledge and skill reflects the individual therapist's progression of experience, proficiency, and expertise within the massage therapy profession.

Each level represents a distinct set of skills and knowledge, allowing clients to choose therapists based on their specific needs, desired outcomes, and budget.

See our List of The Middle Wellness Center Staff.

1. Licensed Massage Therapists

Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) form the foundation of the massage therapy profession. They have completed the necessary education and training requirements to obtain a massage therapy license.

Licensed Massage Therapists possess a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various massage techniques. They are proficient in providing general relaxation massage and basic therapeutic treatments.

Our Licensed Massage Therapists work are under the guidance, and have regular training and practice, with our more experienced practitioners. They are skilled at creating a comfortable and safe environment for clients, ensuring well-being and rejuvenation throughout the massage therapy session.

Finally, all of our Massage Therapists have demonstrated a deep passion for the industry, and continually make efforts to advance their skillset, knowledge, and art.

2. Advanced Massage Practitioners

Advanced Practitioners are highly experienced and skilled Massage Therapists who have honed their craft through years of practice. They have a deep understanding of the human body and its musculoskeletal system.

Advanced Practitioners have expanded their knowledge by pursuing additional certifications, attending advanced training programs, and continuously updating their massage therapy skills. They possess expertise in a wide range of massage modalities, such as deep tissue, sports massage, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.

Advanced Practitioners at The Middle Wellness Center are adept at assessing clients' specific needs, and developing personalized treatment plans to address their concerns effectively. They have the ability to cater to clients with in-depth, specific therapeutic requirements, and may prescribe additional "homework" for clients for continual progress outside of massage therapy sessions.

3. Master Massage Practitioners

Master Practitioners represent the pinnacle of the massage therapy profession. They have achieved the highest level of expertise and proficiency through extensive experience, advanced education, and a lifelong commitment to their craft.

Master Practitioners possess an exceptional understanding of the human body, including its intricate systems and energy pathways. They have mastered a wide array of massage techniques and have developed a unique style and approach to massage, all their own.

Our Middle Wellness Center Master Massage Practitioners serve as mentors, educators, and leaders within the local Grand Junction massage therapy community, as well as abroad. They conduct workshops, train other massage therapists, and contribute to research and development in the field.
